"24"

OK, so I know I'm about ... 5 years late on this one, but "24" is terrific stuff. Pulpy and well-paced, and led by a stellar Kiefer Sutherland (the first action hero of this millennium?). 5 stars and I can't wait for, hm, 96 more hours of it?

Update: It's too long. Filling the full 24 hours required too many plot twists (how many times will that poor girl be kidnapped?). Also, how can a "safe house" be so damn unsafe? Finally, Dennis Hopper meanders in and out of his vaguely Slavic accent . Irritating.

Having said that, the first half is very worthy, and y ou can't help but finish it to see what happens. Season Two DVDs just arrive.
